It’s the May/June issue of PieceWork, which means it’s our annual lace issue. This isn’t just any lace issue, it’s PieceWork’s 10th annual Lace Issue, and we’ve filled it with 14 stellar stories and projects from our contributors.

Kathy Augustine tells the story of an exquisite point d’Angleterre lace veil originally created in 1857 for Mary Elizabeth Mulligan’s marriage to Robert Stockton Green. To date, twenty-three other brides from the Green family have used this veil. Evelyn McMillan tells the fascinating story of how volunteers aided Belgian lacemakers during World War I, and Bonnie-Lynn Nadzeika shows us a ruffled cap with lace insertions that is believed to have belonged to Alexander Hamilton’s wife, Elizabeth Schuyler.

When you make it to the end of this issue, PieceWork Editor-in-Chief Jeane Hutchins recommends three of her all-time favorite books on lace!

Celebrate lace within these pages and enjoy our 10th annual lace issue of PieceWork!
