About Long Thread Media

Long Thread Media serves content for the handspinning, handweaving, and traditional needlework communities online, in person, and in print. The company was founded by Linda Ligon, Anne Merrow, and John Bolton to publish Handwoven, PieceWork, and Spin Off, as well as offer information, education, and community to crafters in those fields. 

The company was founded in 2019 to bring the dedicated team who work on these publications closer to the readers and communities of the crafts they love. “Making yarn and cloth by hand is such an intimate, powerful act that links artisans to one another and to history—the long thread that connects us. That connection is what has made Spin Off, Handwoven, and PieceWork essential reading for decades,” says Anne Merrow.
