Go Beyond Plain Weave on the Pin Loom

Do you wonder what else your pin loom can do? Have you hit a creative roadblock with your pin-loom weaving? Would you like to join pin-loom-woven squares to make rich and interesting projects?

There’s an answer for you, and any pin-loom weaver interested in going beyond plain weave: patterns

Using your standard square pin-loom kit, basic pick-up sequences, and a little help from a knowledgeable teacher, you can discover the joy and potential of weaving patterns. If that sounds intriguing, join talented and passionate weaver Angela Tong for this new course.

After watching, you’ll walk away with:

  • The skills to read and weave pin-loom patterns
  • Four versatile patterns to try
  • Tips to improve your weaving technique, including mastering tension and weaving that tight last row
  • New ways to work with tricky yarns on the pin loom

But most importantly, you’ll gain the confidence to go beyond plain weave and create astounding new projects and designs!

Equipment:

  • 3-pin style pin loom (Angela demonstrates using a 4" Zoom loom)
  • Weaving needle
  • DK or sport-weight yarn (we recommend a wool blend with some stretchiness)
  • Tapestry needle and scissors

Included in the video download:

  • 49 minutes of video instruction
  • Workbook with 4 patterns plus resources
  • Two BONUS designs from Angela

Angela Tong is a Chinese American fiber artist and ceramicist living in Pennsylvania. A former Boston native, she studied at Massachusetts College of Art and then at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She designs knitting, crochet, and weaving patterns for books, magazine publications, and yarn companies. She also teaches workshops across the country and online because she loves helping and encouraging people to learn new skills. Her love of small looms is evident in the projects she designs for the Easy Weaving with Little Looms magazine. She has lost count of how many rigid-heddle looms and pin looms she owns, and there is always a loom warped up for sampling.
