This dainty project was designed to honor a specific literary garment—the apron “trimmed with complicated crochet lace fully five inches wide,” which the character Susan Baker wears in the later Anne of Green Gables books by L. M. Montgomery. The Modern Afternoon Apron with a 1912 Lace Edging may be sewn by machine or by hand. Enjoy making and wearing a vintageinspired Modern Afternoon Apron of your own!
