Colorworks Krokbragd Rug

by Janice Jones

3-Shaft or 4-Shaft Project

"Entranced by a series of prints from V.l.P. Fabrics called "Colorworks," I considered buying several just to look at (some of us do that with fabrics as well as yarn). These fabrics are printed and then overdyed with the same color, a process which produces a print color very close in value to the ground. There is an interesting depth to the color when woven—not as flat as solid color strips nor as lively as multicolor prints. Instead of just looking at them, I combined these wonderful fabrics with two favorite techniques of mine—bias-cut cloth strips and krokbragd, a three-shaft point twill especially well-suited to rugs." -Janice Jones
