Pouch Pattern Based on the Iklé Fragment to Nålbind
This project is based on the fragment (described and shown in the preceding article) from the collection of the Swiss textile historian Fritz Iklé (1877-1946). The fragment was too small to identify its original context; it could have been part of a small bag or a sock or the trim on something else. Wanting to make something practical, Karen Sullivan chose to make a small bag that might have been used to hold coins or other small objects.
