The Spencer Jacket body is worked in one piece to the underarms and then split for the two fronts and the back. The shoulders are joined with a three-needle-bind-off, and the sleeves are worked in the round from the top down, starting with short-rows and ending with the lace-ruffled cuff. A button and buttonhole band are knitted on, and then the collar is worked from stitches picked up around the neck.

Needles: Needles, circular 16 and 40 inches (40.6 and 101.6 cm) and double pointed, size 4 (3.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
