This versitile shrug can be worn with a variety of outfits whether you line in Jane Austen's world or are out and about in this day and age. Ths lace edging aspires to certain romantic sensibility, not unlike Marianne Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility. Replacing the button and neckbands of a classic V-neck raglan with a continuous casing through which a ribbon is threaded and cinched creates gathers and a complementary silhouette without complicating the construction. A variety of looks can be achieved depending upon the ribbon chosen and the amount it is cinched. Knitted with a laceweight yarn, this shrug makes a great layering piece that can be worn spring through fall.
