This overshot table runner was inspired by one of Martin Brenneman’s coverlets. Weave this 4 shaft project that is bound to make a statement in your kitchen or living room.

Weave Structure:
Overshot.

Equipment:
4-shaft loom, 19" weaving width
12-dent reed
2 shuttles

Yarns:
Warp: 10/2 pearl cotton (4,200 yd/lb, UKI), #75 Cobalt Blue and #135 Jade Green, 511 yd each.
Tabby weft: 10/2 pearl cotton, Cobalt Blue, 450 yd.
Pattern weft: 8/2 wool (2,240 yd/lb, JaggerSpun), Bittersweet, 425 yd.

Sewing thread for hems

Warp Length:
454 ends (includes 2 floating selvedges) 2 1/4 yd long (allows 3" for take-up, 27" for loom waste)

Setts:
Warp: 24 epi (2/dent in a 12-dent reed)
Weft: 32 ppi (16 tabby, 16 pattern); 24 ppi plain weave for hems

Dimensions:
Width in the reed: 18 11/12"
Woven length (measured under tension on the loom): 48"
Finished size after washing: 18" x 44" with 1/2" rolled hems on each end
