Doubleweave is one of the best reasons to use two heddles on the rigid heddle loom. The designing power of doubleweave is truly amazing. By using this structure you can weave fabric that is connected at one selvedge to create a cloth twice its woven width; connected at both selvedges to create a tube; or weave a cloth where you can interchange the layers to create a dense cloth with tons of patterning power.

In this video, Liz Gipson will walk you through setting up the loom, placing pick-up sticks, weaving a variety of doublweave patterns, and troubleshoot issues you may run into along the way.
